Fuel MPG

I picked up my new CX3 Sports Nav 2 litre petrol 120 bhp on Monday. It’s now done 134 miles. The average mpg is showing as around 33.5.
It goes up and down a little but does not rise significantly now. I read in this forum that the average mpg is above 40.
Is there something wrong?

My automatic has never done less than 42mpg from new. Now at 11,500 miles it averages over 43mpg in mostly local running about.

Reset the MPG average as it may not have been done since it was PDI and could have been low if just been moved around in a stop start way before you collected it.
After 8000 miles my average is 41 mpg with a lot of town driving.

On a long run today of around 100 miles on motorway and A roads, in light traffic averaging around 55 mph, I got 49mpg.

Around the suburbs, traffic lights and ring roads, I get 35mpg.

Average over 4000 miles is 39mpg. Its a petrol auto and I dont drive fast or race away from lights. The fuel consumption has certainly improved a lot since the 1st 1000 miles.

I've finished mpg watching. It averages out at around 40 mpg. It does over 50 mpg on a good run. Don't need to know anymore. Set it to know when I need to refill and just enjoy my driving. :D

I have a 2016 CX-3 with the same 2.0L Petrol engine (2wd)

I'm a fairly aggressive driver but the onboard computer says I've averaged 44.8mpg over the 15k+ miles I've driven it.

At the start I was really amazed at how high of a gear the engines tuned. Barely have to be over 1,000 rpm and the engines happy.
25mph and 4th gear is good unless you're going up a hill
30mph and 5th gear is fine
38mph and 6th gear is fine - and staying in higher gears definitely boosts the mpg figures!
