Hi,

I've just brought a 2015 CX3 1.5 diesel. In my previous vag group car I put Forte advance diesel treatment additive and
their dpf cleaner additive. Can I use this in a Mazda as I'm not sure whether the cx3 has a Fuel Borne Catalyst (additive tank).

If the cx3 does have this, can it harm if the cleaner was added?

Also what mileage would you replace the dpf need to be charged? Or is it okay just to pay a specialist to clean the dpf than charge it.

No previous dpf issues just wanting to keep it that way with this car too.

I'd appreciate your help

I've never put an additive in mine, adhering to the caution in the owner's manual. Most of my diesel is purchased at a Texaco forecourt.
...Never add fuel system additives. Otherwise, the emission control system could be damaged...
DPF cleaning is managed by the vehicle.

Hopefully not too far off topic - I've just booked my first 1yr service and the dealer (Perrys) have recommended that in addition to the standard service that they include a fuel (petrol) system cleaner (I suspect that its some sort of additive).
Just wondered if anybody else had been recommended the same. Of course its not covered as part of the service pack and is an additional £40 or so extra.

No, never been offered it. Mazda Owner’s Manual says not to use additives for both petrol & Diesel engines. I suspect this is just a way to eek a few more ££’s out of your wallet.

During the first annual maintenance of my (petrol) CX-3 in The Netherlands, the dealer advised to add a fuel additive once to clean the fuel injectors.

There are plenty of recognised manufacturers of petrol / diesel additives that cost significantly less than the £40 Perrys are quoting you. Another dealer rip off item I would say.

The only additive I've ever used back in the days was Slick50 oil additive. It coated the engine parts in Teflon.
