I have just had a full service done by Freelance Mazda near Chatham which was a very favourable £144 inc. compared to the £397 quoted by Perrys and they updated my service record on the Mazda site. I must add that the company is not on my doorstep and I need to allow another £12 for fuel but it was WUW and I was free to wander around and have a proper look at the underside or whatever.

Does that include change of brake fluid, new air filter and new pollen filter?

Air filter is a 3rd year replacement item

I agree with CX3fan, there must be a difference in the level of work. That price of £144 is for 1 hours labour and £20 in parts plus vat.

Interesting to see the list and cost of parts then, and their hourly labour charge ,they have a choice of oil 0/30 or 5/30 the 5/30 saving a bit on the cost but even so with the filter etc it seems remarkably cheap.

His Hourly rate is £45 per hour he works on an industrial estate without the need to support franchise costs and all the trimmings as in coffee machines, biscuits, country life mags and service totty - so his overheads are a lot lower - the oil he uses is 5/30 fully synthetic.

Good deal then, no need for main dealer prices, as I see from your info your cx3 is out of warranty, just a shame about the totty .

I had extended warranty until today, I was allowed to use this garage under the terms of my extended warranty, I declined the warranty this year as I had need to use it and they used all sorts of disclaimers to wriggle out of it - not worth the paper it is written on.. I will be using Freelance Mazda to do the work as the cost to have it done by Mazda mainstream would require a second mortgage & yes it is a pity about the totty..
