A typical example of a manufacturer trying to sell the customer what they think they should have, rather than what they want.
You mean like more interior space, better sound insulation and an improved ride?

Depends how much you reckon those changes are worth. Looking at the recent price list for the CX-3 and CX-30, there is a significant difference between the two in my opinion :-

Skyactiv-G CX-3 2WD 122ps petrol models £19,395 - £23,095
Skyactiv-G CX-30 2WD 122ps petrol models £22,895 - £29,495
Skyactiv-X CX-30 2WD 180ps petrol models £24,375 - £31,295

Skyactiv-G CX-3 4WD 150ps petrol models £24,195 - £25,395
Skyactiv-X CX-30 4WD 180ps petrol models £29,295 - £33,495
indeed once you go above £25'000 then honda and Toyota are a much better bet i feel?

A £27500k xc40 is very expensive (£27,500,000) - you might be able to get a Picasso for that, and I mean a painting, not a Citroen 😁.

Any way, at £27.5k you get the base car. Try adding all the optionally extras you get with a Sports Nav and then see what you'll be paying.

I literally picked up my CX-3 today. First ever Mazda. I am a Toyota fan but the CX-3 filled a gap between the Yaris and Corolla.

But I was offered the choice of a 2020 build or compromising on what I wanted to buy now. Therefore I assume production can’t have stopped worldwide.

If the CX-30 had been my Mazda option, I would probably be driving a new Corolla or HRV.

Received the Mazda Stories magazine today with a big section on the CX-30. Still to read it as the wife says I have to do my Saturday jobs first.

It seems that the CX-3 has become a casualty of Mazda's determination to push sales of the CX-30.
I neither know nor care whether they will succeed, and the magazine is now where it belongs, in the recycling bin.

Jeez, what with all the negativty?

We have our CX3s, why should it matter if Mazda decide to replace it with a larger model? The majority of posts here which refer to interior space say it is too small..a lot of posts say it too noisy or the ride isn't good enough. Mazda addresses those issues then you all still moan...

I will wager that Mazda has conducted extensive research and concluded that a new larger model will sell better.

Unless anyone here works in that area and knows better?
Has anyone seen any official statement that Mazda has ceased production of the CX3 or is it usual supposition and guesswork? All manufactures adjust production rates to match expected demand - Mazda is no different.

The only reason Mazda found it necessary to spend money face lifting the CX-3 was the negative customer feedback from many owners, myself included, who complained about the noisy rough riding of the original version. If they had got the car right first time there would have been no need for a face lift.
I have never complained that the interior is too small, just that better use could have been made of the space available.
