There are plenty of "warnings" in the owners handbook - technology does not absolve the driver of responsibility...

Google "plastic bumper repair".

It will bring up a number of "how to" videos and links to bodywork shops that specialise in repairing damaged plastic bumpers with epoxy resins, including bumpers with dents and small holes in as in your photograph.

If it was my car, I would certainly explore those options before forking out £££££££ to Mazda and for insurance premium increases.

Thanks for the advice. Ive Googled and come up with a company called Dent Wizard who are a mobile service and have agents throught the country. Ive requested a quote so I'll see how I get on.

.. totally agree and next time it could be a child, judging by the dent one was not reversing gently..

At the end of the day it all depends on what sort of job you want on a 2018 car I would want the job done right not a bodge ,by the size of the dent I would think the crash bar will be bent they are £150 .

It looks to me to be outside the area of the crash bar. But it's all supposition until it get's looked at by a professional.

Well, I took the car to the body shop today and it is a new bumper and a crash bar. Estimated cost is £800 to £900 as predicted.
I asked the question about the sensors not picking up an obstacle at an angle and this apparantly, is quite correct. Each one will only see the area straight ahead of it. They dont 'fan out'. My old Mazda 6 had them just round the corner of the car so the brick building would have been picked up. The CX3 sensors dont extend that far round. I never heard back from the Dent Wizard people so I would imagine the work would have been beyond them.

That sounds about right mine cost me £960 for the same job

You say your Mazda6 had them around the corner of the car - Check mine in the picture........ Definitely 'around the corner' for the outside ones, is your CX-3 different??? I would have though the panel comes pre-drilled as they're a standard fitment???
And you don't have to be travelling at any pace to ruin the panel - being as it's plastic!

I'm not sure if this is correct..................On my Nissan Qashqai the "fan out" angle was narrowed using a laptop in order that they didn't pick up the tow ball and give a false detection.
