Locking Wheel Nuts

I have a November 2019 CX3 2.0 121ps Sport Nav. I have just purchased McGard SU 24157 locking wheel nuts from Halfords. After submitting the registration number the Halfords site recommended these nuts, along with several others, specifically for the car. Having fitted them I notice that they are a little longer than the fitted wheel nuts. Are the locking nuts supposed to be the same length as the fitted nuts? Will this slight discrepancy affect the handling?

Mazda do two types of locking wheel nuts available as a genuine accessory from your dealer -

I wouldn't have thought the McGard ones being a bit taller would be a problem (other than aesthetics) so long as the seat of the nut is the correct profile, but if in doubt, check with a professional.

I think it is very unlikely that they would have any effect on the handling, but the only way to be sure is to fit them and drive it.

Thought I would just add to post,
I ordered my replacement key from car accessories site £45, on the recipe was manufacturers web site Mc gard, Germany, if I had ordered direct from them it would have cost me €19 about ( £20 ).
So worth trying to buy from manufacturers for everything maybe ??
