emergency braking

I've just booked my car in to the local Mazda dealer for safety investigation. Driving along the other day the car decided to brake on me. Felt like ABS and audio bells for about 2 secs and I felt like I had hit something but road was clear.. No illuminated warnings on dash that I noticed. I put my foot back on accelerator and carried on with my journey. This obviously has safety management issues. This may have happened in US for 2019-20 models but mine is over 3 years old. Could be a software issue? Has this happened to anyone else?
The only time I've had it happen was at low speed when I was pulling out of a junction into a gap in a line of stationary traffic on a bend and it thought I might hit the back of a car.
The SCBS relies on info from the front sensing camera behind the rear view mirror. The manual says "In the following cases, the Advanced Smart City Brake Support (Advanced SCBS) may operate.
- Objects on the road at the entrance to a curve.
- Vehicles passing in the opposite lane while making a curve.
- When passing through a toll gate.
- When passing through low gates, narrow gates, car washing machines, or tunnels.
- If you suddenly come close to a vehicle ahead.
- 2-wheeled vehicles, animals, or standing trees."

Who in Mazda wrote this I wonder? I'd hate to think how much worse it would be driving on country roads if there were moving trees, especially if they were ignoring speed limits and wandering all over the road. Perhaps they were referring to sleeping trees laying across the roadway?

A standing tree is one that hasn't fallen/been felled.

Thanks for this - it has had me worried on a few occasions when I am pulling up to the side of the garage with some trees in front.
