Hello, trying to update my CX3 Gracenote Database. I have downloaded the file onto a usb but in the car it recognised the usb but not what's on it. Tried two sticks.

Not sure what happened but you need the ' grace note <date>.up file ! I had the xxxx.mcp file.....
Now it says the current music updates 00.09.000? and this was what was on the 2016 reg car? Is there no later file??

I don't update Gracenote, personally, however, I note on this web page https://infotainment.mazdahandsfree.com ... uage=en-EU the update filename is 'Gracenote_EU_June2018.up' which, if correct, is woefully out of date.
As I understand it, the latest MZD-Connect operating system versions now also contain the Gracenote database updates, so Gracenote is updated when OS is. The OS is something that a dealer can do for you, the latest being 70.00.352. I don't know what version of Gracenote that would give you, as I'm not on the latest OS in my car.
