If the battery dies, you can open & lock the car with the auxiliary key inside the fob and hold the fob to the start/stop button to start the engine.
No, no dash warning light. 2015 Cx3 Sports Nav AWD.
Took me a while to notice our dash warning, IIRC the usual green flashing icon became red?? Had no problems apart from the red icon and just changed the fob battery to be safe - icon back to green.

I change my batteries every two years on the MX5 and the previous CX3, never had a problem.
2019 CX-3 2.0 Sport Nav+ Automatic in ETERNAL BLUE

Recently changed fob battery on our CX3 ( i dont drive it but my wife mentioned it was getting a bit more reluctant to lock/unlock etc, and she had the dash warning light )

As said, its a couple of minutes job, and i'm not particularly " handy " :)

Paid £7.50 for a 4-pack of CR2025 at local Tescos - no single or twin packs there, but they dont expire till 2029 so should use most/all of them.
2018 CX3 SE-Nav Petrol, manual , Soul Red.
