My question is, has anyone fitted an aftermarket amplifier and upgraded the speakers? I'm not used to having to turn the volume up to 3/4 for it to actually get loud.

I have the Bose option which has surprisingly good quality sound and plenty of headroom at loud levels. I'm a studio tech and was sceptical didn't even listen on the test drive, so this was a really good surprise once I'd bought the car. There's blurb about being designed for the specific interior, but whatever IMHO it sure works. I see on ebay the whole system crops up at what I'd call a reasonable price and you might consider this?

I tried to find the spec just to see how much power was being thrown at the Bose system, I suspect it's large. I read that the early non-Bose system was critiqued as quiet but haven't heard and cant comment. If anyone knows the spec of either the standard or Bose system I'd be interested?

HTH!

Many of us have fitted a Stebel air horn...it certainly works.
