I have just been offered an extended warranty with Breakdown etc from Mazda UK for "One Year" at a cost of £367.10 annual payment. I have read the small print but cannot ascertain whether the MZD Connect System Software and the Navigation System Software are covered for free updates during and under the extended warranty and Service Plan. I'm sure plenty of members will have been through this scenario and have a wealth of knowledge to impart. I look forward to your answer comments.

The Mazda Navigation System Software 3 year upgrades on a new car purchase isn't linked to the 3 yr Warranty. So any extended warranty offered by Mazda does not include any extension to the navigation updates. They need to be purchased separately either as a single time update or a 3 yr update - details are here https://infotainment.mazdahandsfree.com ... uage=en-EU

Neither upgrading of the MZD Connect Operating System nor the Map Updates are covered by the Mazda Extended Warranty insurance -

See page 16 of the Policy Booklet. Under the heading 'What is not covered?':
• Re-programming/software updates, unless required as part of a replacement part repair.

and page 18 General Exclusions:
3. Wear and tear, normal deterioration, routine servicing, maintenance, re-programming or loading of software.

They are not standard service items either, so are unlikely to be covered by a service plan purchased from a dealer, but you'd have to check with whoever is providing the service plan to be sure.
