Hi All,
Just got a low mileage sports Nav + and been considering a ceramic coating
Anyone had any experience with them, any recommendations? I have been looking at an Autoglym product at Halfords (mainly because I have a £20 voucher )

Ceramic coating
I've not used a ceramic coating, I use Autoglym UHD Wax though.
Autoglym say their UHD Ceramic Coating will provide up to one year of protection. The key to a good finish will be a high level of preparation.
More about it, and how to use, here - https://www.autoglym.com/ultra-high-def ... ic-coating

Try https://detailingworld.com and ask your question there. You will likely get a more sensible opinion. Halfords!! haha!!

Just clay-mitted, polished & ceramic coated my vehicle with Shelby Ceramic Coating. Very pleased.

Nice
I looked at the Autoglym product on the Web, made for the high-street consumer to apply. There are a few YouTube review vids.
You need to keep it dust and rain free for at least 4 hours after application, and that's not possible for me as I don't have access to a garage. Plus, although the final result is decent, it doesn't seem to look any better than their UHD wax, just possibly longer lasting.
I could really do with a DA polisher, preferably battery powered, but they are so expensive for ocassional use. I'd also need to wait until I change jobs, as my current commute, although less frequent because of Covid, means driving down thin country lanes and the clearcoat gets scratched on the hedgerows! Not to mention the stone chips on the bonnet that need dealing with .

The Shelby coating is apply, wait 2 minutes, wipe with damp rag & then buff. Supposedly will last at least 2 year- we'll have to wait & see about that.

I bought a £30 polisher. It worked well but only after the sealed plug shorted and when up in smoke. Just cut off the existing one & put a new one on. That was probably the reason it was cheap.

That looks lovely and i know from previous threads your car has done a reasonable amount of miles.HouseSpider wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 6:47 pm Just clay-mitted, polished & ceramic coated my vehicle with Shelby Ceramic Coating. Very pleased.

Car looks sweet, I'll have a look at the Shelby stuff, trouble is the more I look at these products the bigger the shortlist gets
On a practical note I've also seen YouTube reviewers applying wax prior to applying the coatings, which seems a bit odd to me, seeing as the ceramic coatings supposedly bond to the paint
