Hello, just put a new Album onto my Music USB. It plays ok, songs all there but the Artwork is not displayed. All the other ones I have done in the past are ok.
Is this a Gracenote version problem on the car or what I have downloaded?
Gracenote version I can find on line says June 2018 and it should be 1.1.1.02071 is this correct?

thanks

As I understand it, MP3 files can have short tags for Song Name, Artist, Album Name, Year, Genre, and short free form comments.

Presumably Gracenote matches Album name and Artist to the artwork library. And so if the artwork doesn't appear, that's down to either error in the mp3 tag info (which appears in the MZD player so we can see), or mismatched entry in the gracenote library, or maybe a hiccup in the MZD system (less likely if other albums appear fine I suppose).

Hope this might help in some small way,

It's probably worth checking what artwork is attached to the mp3 file. e.g. - https://aboutdevice.com/how-to-add-cove ... ng-mp3tag/

I believe Gracenote will use data from its database unless the track isn't in its database, in which case it reverts to mp3 tags embedded in the file, if there are any.

The downloadable Gracenote database from Mazda is way out of date. I think the Gracenote database updates are now integrated in the MZD Connect infotainment operating system updates as and when released by Mazda. The OS updates are performed by a dealer on request. When I'm next in my car, I'll look and see what version Gracenote I have on the infotainment.

The MZD Connect also has a cache file and it therefore may not recognize changes to an existing USB stick. You may need to reset the system to default settings (with ignition on) to clear the cache, but be aware that doing so will require you to change all the default settings back to your preferred ones - See viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2423

A later version 1.1.1.02315 is available for Region 1 (which includes Europe) via this Mazda Connect support page, along with update instructions https://connect.mazda.com/en/support/gracenote_update/

NB: I've not downloaded and tried to update mine as yet

I'm not sure that version is compatible with the pre-2021 cars. That download is a .mcg file, whereas the older operating system uses .up files.

I downloaded the .mcg file and tried to update my 2021 CX-3 with Mazda Connect version 74.00.200 EU N.
As expected, the file was not recognized.
