Hi,

First time Mazda owner, coming from BMW.
To power my dashcam in my 5 series, I soldered a little fused transformer thing that connected to the powered mirror... no running cables or removal of A pillar required.

What do you guys do with dascam cable routing when removing the A pillar is a bit too 'risky', or not preferred choice?

Thanks,
Stu

I'm not aware of a tidy solution on the CX-3 other than removing the A pillar trim; it's not that difficult to do.

There is a Mazda pdf, showing where the clips are, in this thread viewtopic.php?f=11&t=113 and you just have to ensure the cable follows the existing loom above the side airbag and then down into the passenger footwell fuse box.

The A pillar trim is tethered to one of the clips, so you either cut the tether and then replace it with a new one from Mazda parts, or do as I did and work with the trim still tethered - http://www.jtonline.info/thinkware-f770 ... m-cellink/

Alternatively, pay for someone else (e.g. Halfords) to hardwire it :)

It's very easy. Push the cable past the top of windscreen under the head trim - it's not well formed so there plenty of gap. It can then be pushed under the rubber trim on the A pillar, then behind the glove box. Mine only really is visible where it comes into the area of the power socket.
