Hi

My last free map update was in June 2020 and I'm pondering the idea of buying a 3rd party map SD card from https://www.satnavishop.co.uk/mazda-sat ... -640-p.asp, has anyone done similar and do I need to check if the software version on my car before I order, or is this necessary.

Many Thanks

I bought one from them a couple of months ago and very satisfied. At first I was disappointed because it hadn't updated a local speed limit but further investigation showed new junctions / roads were updated. You will need to send them a photo of the current card and one of the sat nav screen.

Please be aware that the map database for this SD card is Quarter 2 of 2020 so any new roads built since then wont show. The card is also available from AliExpress for £18.38 if you want to cut out the middleman and are happy to wait 3 weeks!

Hi - new here: does anyone know if there are any free 3rd-party map updates that would work with CX-3?
Cheers

What model year is your car? More recent ones, 2019 onwards I think, came with a new usb hub. This is just in front of the gear shifter. The newer hub has a picture of phone on it at the side of one of the usb slots. Plug your phone in this usb slot if you have the newer hub, then you will have access to either android auto or Apple car play. These have navigation with up to date maps. If you have the old usb hub, then you will probably have to rely on your phone or you could always fit a the newer usb hub and update the mzd connect software!

Think we need to update our sat-nav..... surprising the amount of changes since we bought our CX3 in 2019.

Appreciate an idiots guide to doing this for a 2018 CX3 ?

Map update prices and 'how-to' instructions here ~ https://infotainment.mazdahandsfree.com/navigation-updatemymaps?language=en-EU

Although, as the Mazda maps aren't updated very often and cost a lot of money, I installed the Apple CarPlay/Android Auto accessory kit and use the Waze sat nav app.

Or you can order a new card SD from Uk suppliers for £35 or only £18 direct from China via AliExpress. swap the SD card, turn on the ignition and the maps update in less than a minute. Job done.
