The Mazda2-based crossover is due later this summer in Japan and is launching in Europe and emerging markets later, according to Automotive News citing a report in Japan's Nikkei newspaper. However, the report made no mention of selling it in North America.
Compact SUV's such as the CX-3 are not as popular in the US as they are in the UK and the rest of Europe. Buick sells a rebadged version of the Vauxhall Mokka in the US and Nissan sell the Juke but that's about it.
Perhaps if the US start taking to smaller SUV's Mazda could easily start selling it over there.
North American-specification models will only be fitted with the SKYACTIV-G 2.0-litre gasoline engine according to Mazda so I think it will be released in the US of A.
