I have a damaged rear parking sensor - looks like someone bumped into my rear bumper just precisely where one of the sensors is mounted. It has damaged the sensor and pushed it out of the holder. Now none of the rear sensors are bleeping! Do I have to buy a complete kit to get a sensor? Can an individual sensor be fitted? I have had a quick 'grope' around under the bumper and I cannot find a joint in the cabling.

Thanks!

Check with your Mazda dealer, but I believe 1 x rear bumper Ultrasonic Sensor in colour 41V Soul Red Metallic is part number DA6T-67-UC1 62 @ £22.55 +VAT.

Each sensor plugs into its corresponding socket along a wiring assembly, part number DF7C-67-SH0, that goes into the boot.

Thanks JT. Do you have the part number for a black one? Mine has 2 Soul Red sensors in the body work at the rear corners and two black sensors in the rear bumper!

DD1G-67-UC1 is listed without a paint colour so I expect this is the part number for an unpainted one. Again, don't order without speaking to your dealer's parts department because they'll be able to double check against your VIN number. Any special order parts are likely to be non-returnable if they're wrong.

But at least you know the sensors can be purchased individually.

Thank you for the info. Indeed it is a relief to know that I can purchase a single sensor.
My son reckons that a car with a towbar/ball hitch used me as a parking guide and that the ball lined up with the sensor in the rear fender.
B@lls!

I think your son is probably spot on, Colin. Just this weekend I came back to my car to find someone had reversed into the supermarket car park space in front of my car, and his/her tow hook was about an inch from my number plate.
