With all the fuss about diesels popping up again, they better offer the AWD auto with petrol on this new CX-5 or I’m off elsewhere.

You can come to Denmark and buy one, we have the 2,5 and the 2,0 as AWD auto :-)
I think You can buy it here and take it back to the UK but as the steering wheel is on the left, it might be a tad annoying in the long run ;-)

I thought just got the cx5 recenty? After around box poblem. Id guess it wouldn't be that economical in petrol as it kinda big.

The diesel isn't that brilliant because it regenerates very frequently so it pulls the average down to the low 30s. The plus side is that the pulling power is astonishing. Hills just don't exist - it really is that good. The problem with diesels is about to get worse IMO. The rumblings of surcharges for parking in London are live again and that will bring congestion charging and this time I've heard nothing to say that Euro VI engines won't be involved. To be honest, I'd put up with a 2.5 petrol and the power loss and I if it gets anything better than 30mpg it would be comparable.

Yeah, You need to do pretty long trips when owning a diesel for it make sense.
I could have bought the CX-3 diesel, but the (much) higher price and only slightly better mpg wasn't worth it (with auto transmission).
