My Mazda went in for it's first service today and i asked them for a MZD firmware update.

On checking it was installed with 70.00.100 which the dealer stated was the only one Mazda states should be installed and not the 59 versions.

Not noticed any problems but can anyone confirm if this is correct.

On the North American/Canada forum they have been told the same since October.

Thanks

Mark

I have done a search on the Mazda site but can't find Mazda MZD firmware 70.00.100.
Can anybody post a link please?

The only difference from v70 to v59 is AA/Car play integration. You should see it infotainment app menu now.

The MZD Connect (infotainment) operating system updates are not officially released to the public by Mazda. If you have a problem that would be rectified by the latest version, then you can book your car into a Mazda authorised servicer for them to do the update (free of charge during the manufacturer's 3 year warranty period).

You may find the update files and instructions posted illegally on internet sites, and although the update process is quite straightforward, be aware that if you go down the DIY route and don't follow the current update process to the letter, or load an incorrect version, you may cause your MZD Connect system to stop working.

(Note that to use Android Auto/Apple Car Play in conjuction with OS 70.xx you also need the updated USB hardware, that has an icon of a mobile 'phone next to the USB1 socket).

Now that I have OS 70.00.100 installed, I've discovered that as well as Apple Car Play / Android Auto, it also pauses USB & CD music when you mute the speakers. Something that has been lacking from the official Mazda OS since the car was launched (but did become available as an unofficial hack). 8-)
