Heard something loose making rattling noise in boot and noticed that one of the two towing eyelets had worked loose from storeage position-the other was nicely affixed into place( an obvious slot on top of the spare wheel cover) BUT I cannot for the life of me see where the other loose eyelet was meant to be stored. In order for it to work loose it must have been housed somewhere? ....it's not a big issue-but it's foxed me! ...any ideas anyone?

The 2018 Owner's Manual shows the long eyelet is stored in a cutout specifically shaped to hold it, whereas the short one is just loose in a bag and tucked away. That's how it is in my 2015 too.

Why do we need two different lengths?

Thanks jtonline-Mine was just loose . I think what might have happened is that at some previous stage the spare tyre for pressure was checked and the eyelet -tucked somewhere near-then lost it's cover. Cant see myself ever using eyelets--but you never know!

In both my Dutch CX-3 cars (2018 and 2021) I had only one towing eyelet.
