Hope not, New injectors are not cheap, Could possibly be the reason though.

£3000 is the going rate for a Mazda dealership to replace and recode four injectors which may or may not be the cause of the issue.

Personally, If i had eliminated other causes I would be part exchanging to the trade or finding an injector specialist to bench test and refurbish where necessary at a fraction of the price.

If a brand new CX-3 had cost £250,000 or more then that £3,000 cost for replacing and recoding 4 injectors might be acceptable!

Injectors are never cheap but I think you are right. £3000 is taking the pi$$ but chances are you would be looking at £700-800 to refurbish all four injectors at a specialist.

I had a poke around with my tools for an hour and managed to clean the temp sensor in the top of the DPF, which was fairly clean and 02 sensor in the intake manifold and that was absolutely filthy. It was covered in a mixture of oily soot. All the air holes seem to be blocked to me.

The temperature sensor on the DPF can be easily removed with a 14mm open ended spanner as access is OK.

The O2 sensor is a bit more difficult and you will need an open ended 14mm socket and an extension bar and ratchet. I loosened the 3 X 8mm bolts on the coolant reservoir and the rubber hose from the airbox to improve access. I had to use both index fingers to refit in the sensor.

The car started fine and there were no warning lights or error codes. I very much doubt this exercise will make any difference to the regen intervals which are currently averaging every 80 miles.

Reset the trip meter on mine since last regen. Took the car out yesterday it started another regen, just short of 80 miles since last one. In the process of looking around for another car now, petrol this time..

The sensor in the intake manifold is not an O2 sensor but an air temperature sensor. Seems like most diesels don't have O2 sensors.
