Took the car to the main dealer yesterday for a prearranged visit to have a faulty heated seat base replaced under the extended warranty.

However they found the parts ordered against the VIN didn't match my car. So I've had to go collect it while other parts turns up, as they are on back order.

Strange thing is this is, this is the third time the dealer has had this issue when ordering parts for the car. Not just the main dealer either, local independent also initially got the wrong parts when they were replacing the rear discs and pads last October.

Beginning to wonder if Mazda has published the wrong build spec against my VIN?

I wouldn't have thought that was very likely. More likely that the dealer hasn't interpreted the parts catalogue results properly.
Difficult to say though without your VIN and the part numbers ordered.
