Hi

Just purchased my first Mazda went for a cx3 2015 1.5 diesel sky active in silver/white. It has done 58k on it. The engine management light has just come on and reading the code it has a p1142 error. Is this common and does anyone know what would the route cause

Thanks

Various possible causes. Here is Mazda information on that DTC.

If it's done a lot of short journeys in its life, the MAP sensor may be covered in soot, or the exhaust pressure sensor faulty.
Vacuum pump failing or turbocharger actuator flap faulty could also be an issue.
It really needs checking over by a mechanic.

Unless you bought the car privately then I would be going back to the vendor to complain and try and get them to fix it. Print out the above TSB so their mechanic can check the relevant areas.

Please report back with how you get on and what the issue was to grow the knowledge base on here.
