Noticed recently that my red warning security indicator light(the one with the mini padlock) flashes every three seconds when the engine is off and the vehicle safely locked . The security--and the light- is of course disarmed when the engine is started and running. All else normal.

Have had the vehicle for over a year and never noticed this flashing before--is the 3 second flashing normal when the vehicle is left locked?

It sounds correct to me............What does it say in the handbook?

From the manual:

Arming:
The system is armed when the ignitionis switched from ON to off.
The security indicator light in the instrument cluster flashes every 2 seconds until the system is disarmed.

So as switchback says, it's all normal
