During the last service in December, carried out at the local main dealer, I reported the drivers seat base was not getting as warm as the backrest with the seat heating switched on.
They confirmed the fault and thankfully it was covered by the Mazda used car warranty.
After the wrong parts were initially sent, I eventually had the fault fixed this week. However I was surprised, as they appear to have replaced not just the heat mat but the foam cushion and the seat base cloth/leatherette cover too. Can only assume it comes as an assembly.
The other thing of note was the obvious degradation of the foam cushion over the last five years and 20k miles, as you don't sink into the seat with the new one anywhere near as much I did with the original, probably the reason the heat mat failed.
