Hi
I have just joined the forum and am looking to see if any of you have experienced the same problem that I have.
I bought my Cx3 Sport Nav new in Sept last year, I only have covered around 3400 miles, mostly urban and no motorways. When I last washed my car I found 8 chip marks across the bonnet, the colour is Soul Red and was paint protected from new.
I have contacted the dealer who has referred me to Mazda UK. I have not contacted them yet as I want to find out if anyone else has had the same experience.
Look forward to hearing from anyone.
PS Love the car in all other respects.
Thanks.

Having driven a royal blue VW for 7 years (and being constantly armed with a touch up can) this was one of the main reasons I avoided the red, even though it looks very nice in the show room. Another was the way the sales girl spotted every chip on the VW when quoting for trade in. Mind you the ceramic does need cleaning fairly frequently.lat6caR wrote:Hi

Just cleaned the car and inspected the bonnet, not a chip in sight so I suspect you were just unlucky.alanandlyn wrote:Having driven a royal blue VW for 7 years (and being constantly armed with a touch up can) this was one of the main reasons I avoided the red, even though it looks very nice in the show room. While I was last in the garage I ordered a touch up kit. Picked it up today, it's black and my car is ceramic. After an exchange of words worthy of a comedy sketch regarding the colour ("what colour is your car", "ceramic", "yes but what colour is it", "ceramic", "ok what shade is it", "errr cer......silver?") they found out that touch up (or spray cans) for ceramic ("it must be one of those new colours") is not available ....... yet.

Have you tried your local Halfords store? Selected stores have a paint mixing service for touch-up pens and spray cans. If you give them the Mazda paint code for your car they'll be able to tell you if they have the necessary mix details on file. Thanks JT, if I'm desperate maybe I'd try it but it's just something I've always bought - just in case - with previous cars. As it is I'll wait for Mazda Parts to catch up.
